AOA (Asia and Oceania Association of the ICMIF) held Microinsurance Seminar jointly with ICMIF (International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation) as follows:
The seminar was attended by 95 delegates of 36 organizations from 17 countries. Participants came from not only Asia and Oceania, but also Europe, the Americas, and Africa. Those 17 countries were Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Participants deepened their understanding of the significance of microinsurance to achieve the SDGs through presentations by external experts such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In addition, based on the case studies by target members of ICMIF 5-5-5 mutual microinsurance strategy as well as supporting members, they could grasp the current state of the 5-5-5 projects. Also, they were able to recognize the benefits which members in the developed markets can obtain through their supports to the emerging markets.
